For Marset’s new collection of innovative light design we decided to take the art direction of photography in a new direction. We aimed to create an artistic space where the visual and emotional effect of the light is the protagonist. By taking the lamps out of their natural environment and shaping a completely new space of abstraction we could reach beyond the physical appearance of the designs.

By creating the scenery of an open cube and designing the set within its space we found the artistic feeling we wanted for the installation. A challenging task due to the large dimensions of the cube. ‘Theia’ by Mathias Hahn, named after the Greek goddess – mother of the sun, the moon and the dawn – with its geometrical design of two half-spheres made its first appearance in the space. The hypnotic ‘Concentric’ by Rob Zinn, had a given spot in the dimensional cube, as well as the emotional ‘Aura’ and the wooden design ‘Ginger’ by Joan Gaspar, ‘Sun’ by Yonoh and the sensual Nº8 by Christophe Mathieu.
The right photographer to realise the photoshoot was our long term collaborator Marçal Vaquer who specialises in still life photography. With Marçal behind the lens and his assistant Marc Arisa we could achieve the crisp and clean imagery needed for the spatial installation under the creative direction of Folch.
Our story with Marset continues after the successful award winning campaign ‘Reflections on light’. Marset, a lighting design company with over 40 years of expertise, has become one of our closest clients over the last decade. Their clear vision on communication, innovation and design have been important factors to the growing relationship and fruitful communication campaigns.
